Through our technology platform, sugars are converted into chemical building blocks which, with further refinement, supply a steady stream of non-toxic, biodegradable chemicals. As these materials flow into industrial applications, they are transformed into thousands of bioproducts that retain the environmentally-friendly characteristics of their natural feedstocks.
Every carbon atom found in Rivertop’s building block chemicals comes from renewable sources rather than from the hydrocarbons found in crude oil. As a result, our chemicals have a Renewable Carbon Index of 1, calculated by dividing the number of carbons derived from renewable sources by the total number of carbons in the chemical. One-hundred percent of the carbons in our chemicals are renewable.
